Please join us in congratulating the 2009-2010 SCAC Grant Award Recipients:

The Asian Cultural Association received $2000 for Seminole County Education Programs

Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center received $2,000 for their "Sights and Sounds" performance and also their Family Series Wekiva River Players received $2000 for their Junior Theater program

Fab Follies received $2,000 for their "Fab Follies" performance

Spring Lake Elementary and Wilson Elementary were each awarded $750 for their Sand Art programs.

Creative Sanford received $2000 for their "line catching" efforts in creating the "Celery Soup" performances.

Oviedo Women's Club received $200 for their Sand Art program
 
     
 

Since 1995, with the support of the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners, the SCAC has awarded more than $250,000 in grants to individuals and organizations, and supports county-wide programs including "Arts in Education" and "Arts in the Community". In 2007/2008 SCAC provided funding support to organizations such as the Asian Cultural Association, Midway Safe Harbor Center , Boys and Girls Club, Creative Sanford, Girl Scouts, Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center, and Seniors for a Better Community are some of the beneficiaries of the grant program. This program is funded in part by the Florida's "State of the Arts" license plate program created by the Legislature in 1994.
